Las Ramblas Apartments
Keeping on with the film topic started in the last article, today it is Barcelona’s turn. Barcelona has been set of several movies, so does Madrid. One of the most remembered ones is “Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona”, filmed by Woody Allen in 2008. The Hollywood stars Scarlett Johanson and the Spanish couple Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz were the main actors.
You may already know this event, as it is the main one about the real estate in Europe during the autumn season and one of the two best congresses of the year. It is an annual celebration where professionals, experts, business people and even customers, meet together to interchange knowledge, tendencies, compare prices and projects, etc. in Barcelona.
“Las Ramblas” is the most famous and beautiful walk street of Barcelona. It starts in Plaza Cataluña and longs up to the port, where you can admire the “Colom” sculpture. This high monument commemorates the man who discovered America, as some people believe that he was from Catalonia.
From 14 to 18 September, Vic will become a whole stage where all kinds of music artists coming from different national sites (and a few ones international), will perform their repertories to a massive audience. The Vic Live Music Market (“Mercat de Música Viva de Vic”) will celebrate, this 2011, its 23rd anniversary.
From the IV century, Barcelona became a walled town. In that moment, the city was called Barcino, and thanks to this great fortification, it grew enough to be the capital of Catalonia.
When you visit Barcelona, you may find difficult to imagine the real size and shape of this big city. Although you can suppose it is a crowded place, sometimes tourists don’t appreciate the whole “body” if they don’t move to one of the several gazebos that let you see Barcelona from above.
The other day, we started to talk about possible excursions you can do from Barcelona in only one day. We mentioned Montserrat as one of the most symbolic places of Catalonia, also for its religious meaning. But today we would like to keep going with this topic, presenting you another sanctuary very famous in this territory: Núria.
Although Barcelona has an infinite range of activities to do during all the year, places to go, monuments to visit, and corners to discover, today we want to give you some advices to let you go out from the city and get involved with the gorgeous countryside and enchanting cities and towns of Catalonia.
From the 23rd to the 26th of September, Barcelona will dress its best clothes to welcome thousands of Catalan, Spanish and worldwide visitors to the greatest celebration of the Catalonia’s capital: La Mercè. As every year, this enormous event will surprise the participants with an extremely long menu of activities for all kind of people.
